Although Strike is very unlikely to represent much value after his eye-catching debut, he is the logical choice in what looks to be a modest race for it's type at this point in the season. Water Taxi is a well-bred sort who, along with Massif Centrale and Light Wind, is well worth noting once the betting begins in earnest. While strong support for Victory Lap would be significant for each-way players to get involved with. However, considering John Gosden's record with horses that have already had a run, Strike is confidently expected to take the major honours today. The son of Silver Hawk is bred to make an impact at middle distances this season and he can take this next step in his stride without too much fuss if he runs up to expectations. However, his presence at this level suggests that Strike is towards the bottom of the pecking order from his trainer's four Derby Entries at this stage.
