Silver Blue can make the step up in trip pay off at the expense of Tent, with Jadalee needing to improve to figure. Silver Blue sets the standard here as Richard Hannon's colt finished only a length-and-a-quarter adrift of of Kevin Ryan's smart Palace Episode in a Listed contest at York's Ebor meeting, and as he was staying on too good effect at the finish, the move up to a mile should be very much in his favour. His main rival here is Tent who was thought good enough to run in the Coventry Stakes. He finished well beaten, but has since run a fair race to chase home the odds-on Private Business at Chester, and on that form can chase the selection home. Unfortunately for connections, he could prove hard to place now due to his current rating, but will continue to be there or thereabouts in decent company. Jadalee ran green on his Sandown debut and was not disgraced in finishing seventh. He should pay to follow in time, while newcomer Free To Air will be seen to better effect over further next term. On this occasion though, the class of Silver Blue should tell.
