Verdict

Ruby Walsh partnered Hegrid to victory for Tony Martin in this in 2007 and the pair team up again this time with the hat-trick seeking REDERA, who makes a swift reappearance after scoring easily at Wexford on Friday. Clearly at the top of his game, he may be good enough to defy the 6lb penalty. Martin also saddles Uncle Taffy, another chasing a three-timer after victories at Cork and Ballinrobe. He's unlikely to be far away either at the other end of the handicap but One For Joules has more on his plate than when landing a Tipperary handicap last month and Madame Mado is 3lb higher than when runner-up at Sligo last time. Alderwood's win in a Killarney maiden hurdle is working out well, however, and he shouldn't be dismissed out of hand back in handicap company with Gordon Elliott's Sedgefield second Mejd another possible improver.
