Godolphin brought Jalil here to win his maiden and another expensive purchase, NEXUS, gets the vote here ahead of Crystal Rock and Crusoe's Return. If the market speaks violently against the selection, it may pay to side elsewhere, but this 1.2 million guineas purchase looks the part on breeding. A son of Pivotal, the most illustrious of his siblings is George Washington, and this family member has enough stamina on his mother's side to suggest that he will get this trip ok. Sirvino has shown a semblance of ability, whilst Defies Logic has had plenty of chances and looks only moderate. Crystal Rock is yet to prove that this trip suits and would be a real unknown were the ground to soften, whilst Crusoe's Return is a proven stayer and looks to be the main danger. None of the other newcomers strike a chord and so we will return to Nexus to make a winning debut.
