In depth

Verdict

Grand Coalition has been highly tried since winning a Curragh maiden in June, contesting the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes just over three weeks ago. Johnny Murtagh hasn't sent him over for a holiday and the Irish raider will appreciate this slightly easier task. But KODILINE (NAP) also has some decent form to his name, including a third last time at Newbury behind subsequent Gimcrack second Mokarris. He looks the one to beat, though Alicante Dawn is improving fast and is worth a try in pattern company. He makes more appeal than well-beaten Haydock third Private Matter and the others.
