made all, shaken up 2f out, soon clear, ridden out unchallenged
chased winner, pushed along 2f out, soon ridden and outpaced, no chance when eased inside final furlong
A disappointing turnout here, and in what looks a virtual match, Country Rambler is taken to beat Loaderfun. The other contender, Gold Quay, showed little at Chester and is likely to need the run anyway, so the other pair should fight it out. Country Rambler also turned out at Chester last time, when third to Jonny Jumpup. That form is not bad, and with the apprentice taking off seven pounds, Barry Hills' colt can add to his Warwick success. He will certainly find this easier than then behind Dubawi at Newmarket in Group 3 company and should prove too strong for Loaderfun, although to be fair, Henry Candy has his string in fine form at present. Loaderfun kept to his task well when making all at Salisbury last time and Dane O'Neill is expected to try the same tactics here, but on this occasion he may not hold on as Country Rambler comes to pick him off, and it is the latter who gets the vote.
