HOUSE OF LORDS stands out at the weights in this seller and gets the vote, although both Dead Cat Bounce and Heart Of Dubai have to be taken seriously. The selection has joined Paul Midgley after spells with both Michael Bell and, more recently, National Hunt trainer Nick Gifford. His two jumping runs last winter proved abortive, and it may be that he is on a rapid slide. We will know more after today, but he is rated well clear of the rest here and if performing to anything like his mark he will take a bit of beating. Dead Cat Bounce is as inconsistent as you would expect for one in this grade, but did run second in a 10f Lingfield seller a couple of starts ago and the return to this trip looks a positive, so he shouldn't be far away. Heart Of Dubai won a 12f Lingfield maiden in June last year but the handicapper has been well in control ever since. The former Clive Brittain inmate is now with Micky Hammond and is pitched in at this lowly level for the first time. With the yard going well we expect a big run from him. Maddy appears to prefer it when she is in claming company, while Whaston is not in bad form in context, but needs to find plenty. Ollie Pears keeps a good strike rate and money for tongue-strapped Den Maschine would be interesting, but if you must have a bet then House Of Lords is the suggestion.
