Verdict

The form of Polly Alexander's maiden win looks solid in the context of this race and, as such, the Foxhound filly is selected over Evanesce, who can put her experience to good use by filling the position for the forecast. However, that may not be a straightforward task if Balashova is ready to do herself justice and any support for Karl Burke's charge should not be ignored - even though she is a very cheap purchase that should improve for the run. Angleofthenorth and Chicago Night are also expected to need this and are passed over for the time being. Therefore, it may be the best policy to stick with Polly Alexander as she holds the most obvious credentials at this stage and she could continue to pay her way even more when she, in turn, is stepped up another furlong as time goes on.
