Verdict
Mick Channon won this race last year and despite two inauspicious efforts in better company, Sixties Secret is likely to have her supporters. Brian Meehan is a rare visitor to Ripon and Atalanta Queen sets the standard from a handicap perspective. She has the form to win this but with the headgear being reached for in desperation, it may be an opportune moment to field against her with PLACEBO EFFECT. Ollie Pears is doubly represented in this race and his son of Lilibourne Lad has been consistent enough in plating company. Laydee Victoria was ahead of our selection when they met at York though she failed to build upon that run when tried at Thirsk. That said, she rates as the very definite pick of the remainder.
