As with the previous race the draw may well play a major part in the outcome and Dancing Deano has to be respected from box one, while Pomfret Lad, who has solid claims at the weights, has been done no favours with a draw in stall 15 of the 15 runners so the vote goes to Pitch Up. The selection is a rare runner at Ripon for trainer Terry Mills and having shown improved form from his reappearance run in a Lingfield handicap last time he has solid claims on form and at the weights. A decent draw in stall three adds further weight to the claims of Pitch Up and he looks the one they all have to beat. Compton Plume would have a chance if at his best but he has not shown that for some time, while Special Gold has given little cause for optimism of late. A market move for Quantica would be of some interest but Pitch Up holds solid claims and gets the vote.
