Verdict

Chant may need this first run since last autumn and the bottom pair have plenty to find on the formbook. After a series of runs where he finished nearer last than first, MARMION (NAP) was the subject of strong support when scoring at Ripon when hooded first time. He was clearly 'expected' that day after tumbling down the handicap and remains dangerously well treated. Star Of Lombardy disappointed last time but Johnston inmates frequently bounce back after low-key runs and she'll go well if back to her best. Course and distance winner, Theos Lolly just failed to handle Spes Nostra in May on the Tapeta and should go well on that evidence - his best run since being gelded. He has trip and ground to suit.
