      Verdict

William Haggas and Mark Johnston have both won this prize in the past and we'll take the former to come out on top again with GOLD APPROACH. The filly made far too much use of herself in the Queen's Prize at Royal Ascot, but she'd won in emphatic fashion at Lingfield, and she can defy the handicapper here. Notarised was sent off as a hot favourite for the Ulster Derby at Down Royal, and we narrowly prefer the Yarmouth winner over stable companion, Fire Fighting. Desert Snow accounted for a useful type in Rocket Ship at Kempton Park, and if she is able to translate her form to Turf, the Godolphin raider has to be considered to be a major player. Penhill steps up in class following a clear-cut success at Thirsk.
