Observatory Star is fancied to strip a lot fitter after his seasonal debut and gets the nomination ahead of My Paris and Granston, while a move for Zero Tolerance would also be noteworthy. Any rain will help the last named, who ran a blinder to finish second at Beverley at the start of May. He has gone well fresh in the past and, as this will be only his second outing since last November, he is likely to appreciate this return to action. Granston, on the other hand, has a great constitution for racing and will be having his second start within a week. However, he does now look weighted to the hilt and needs all the pieces fitting together for him. My Paris won his maiden here many moons ago and has been placed in both his other visits to Ripon since. Top weight does him no favours today, though. Therefore, we turn to Observatory Star to provide the ammunition in the feature race. The five-year-old is another that has winning course form to his name and, as he acts on most types of ground, there can be very few excuses forwarded for him this afternoon.
