Verdict
Rose of Coma, Rioja Ruby and Syrup are the trio for the shortlist in a competitive opener and the vote is given to Rose Of Coma. The selection hails from a yard in decent form and she finished a decent second behind Alphabeth at Thirsk last time. She looks progressive and she has ground conditions to suit. The only slight worry is the draw as she has not been done any favours by stall 11. Conversely, Rioja Ruby has the best of the draw but she finished behind our selection last time. However, this extra furlong might help her cause so she is not without hope. Syrup disappointed last time but she will be better on this quicker ground so she is another that has to enter calculations, while a market move for Mick Easterby's newcomer Petite Denise could be of interest as the yard are very shrewd. However for the winner we will stick with Rose Of Coma.
