Mick Channon's Ilwadod deserves to win a race of this nature having found one too good in each of his last three starts but the son of Cadeaux Genereux has been done few favours by the handicapper and preference is for Zalda, who is taken to confirm Beverley superiority over Havetoavit. The selection showed improved form for the step up in trip to today's distance on his reappearance earlier this month and has every chance of following up off his new mark. Havetoavit is 2lbs better in for one-and-a-quarter lengths but had the benefit of previous runs and is difficult to recommend on the revised terms. Siegfrieds Night is more exposed than most, while there must be doubts concerning the well being of Mark Johnston's Yoshka, given the general form of the stable's horses. Luca Cumani has his string in good form at present so Ma Yahab has to be respected, especially with the step up in trip likely to suit. He rates a bigger threat than Michael Bell's Vicario, who is another that was beaten by Zalda last time and Roger Charlton's colt is taken to win again.
