Verdict

Emerald Storm did nothing wrong when making a winning debut at Pontefract last month but Mark Johnston's filly faces no easy task on her debut in this grade and preference is for Clipperdown, who gets the vote over Opening Ceremony. The last mentioned has claims on the pick of her form but is not the most consistent of performers and may be best watched. David Barron's Silverhay is capable of taking a hand but could probably do with some help from the handicapper, while Futoo is another that still seems to be a shade high in the weights. Halla San remains a maiden and a safer bet looks to be Walter Swinburn's Clipperdown, who looks ready for this step up in trip and remains potentially well treated.
