In depth

Verdict

Canford Bay escaped a penalty at Doncaster last time for winning an apprentices’ race over track and trip earlier but could only manage fifth. ACCLAIM THE NATION also won his penultimate start and went close again when caught close home at Bath on his latest outing. Eric Alston’s charge should make another bold bid if allowed his own way in front. Boom The Groom is a rare winner nowadays with February’s success at Wolverhampton his first since 2016. But he’s still capable in this grade while Seen The Lyte wasn’t at her best at Pontefract last time and drops back to 5f. Longroom is back on a winning mark having his first outing after wind surgery.
