Verdict

Sheepscar Lad has done all his winning so far over the minimum trip but was placed over 6f at Thirsk recently ahead of Dark Defender. Danny Tudhope’s presence on the latter suggests he’ll be sharper today while Explain won this off a higher mark in 2017. But James Sullivan deserts the latter for stablemate MAGICAL EFFECT (NAP), who is finally back on a winning mark after a long losing run and posted a better effort at Redcar last time in a higher grade sprint than this. He gets the nod given Queens Gift, a maiden winner here last season, is having her first outing since September though will be winning again before long.
