Verdict

A tough race to call here for punters with very little between many of the leading fancies, but the principals look to be Peter's Imp, Blue Patrick and Zonic Boom and the tentative vote is given to the last named. The selection won well last time out when beating Whitgift Rock. That form has since been franked and despite his penalty he is taken to score with one of the more experienced jockeys booked for this type of affair. Peter's Imp rates the main danger as he won a similar contest in good style last time out. However, that was on a much softer surface and with this faster ground looking against him he looks worth taking on at the likely odds. Blue Patrick is another worthy of respect on his latest sixth behind Lucayan Dancer but he has yet to win over this trip and although he has the best jockey booked for this race he still has a little to find. Pataxaran won a claimer in game fashion last time out but he looks high enough in the weights for what he has actually achieved. This is a trappy affair and in a race where stakes should be kept to a minimum for the winner we return to Zonic Boom.
