made all, steadied pace 5f out, quickened over 3f out, ridden over 1f out, stayed on strongly, unchallenged
steadied start, held up in 4th, headway on outside over 3f out, weakening when hung right over 1f out
bit keen, tracked leading pair, went 2nd 10f out, ridden and unable to quicken entering final 2f, lost 2nd over 1f out, 3rd and eased well inside final furlong
tracked winner 2f, chased leaders, went 2nd again over 1f out, stayed on same pace inside final furlong, never able to challenge
There may only be four runners in this but it is far from straightforward. King's Castle probably didn’t beat much at Beverley but there should be plenty more to come from the Haggas colt. Trumpet Man reappeared in the King George V Stakes at Royal Ascot while Stockbridge Tap ran an odds-on favourite to half-a-length here on just his second outing. MAMBO NIGHTS steps up in distance again but was always well in control when making all over 1m2f at Sandown last month. He is still improving and can win again.

King's Castle (IRE) 11-4 (9-2) Tracked leaders, pushed along over 2f out, effort inside final furlong, ridden to lead towards finish, won at Beverley 1m 2f stks (5) gd in Jun beating Al Khabeer (9-2) by 1/2l, 11 ran.
