In depth

Verdict

Dagueneau should stay and handle the quicker surface but the former Flat winner has to give 7lb to useful chaser BEAU SANCY having finally come good at Huntingdon earlier in the year. The latter’s stable has been in cracking form since the resumption of jump racing and, though 0-8 over hurdles, he showed much-improved form over the smaller obstacles in the autumn. Balagan was a shock winner at Uttoxeter on Monday so it remains to be seen if he’ll be turned out again quickly under a penalty.
