Royal Reserve is better treated on Turf than the all-weather so shouldn’t be far away in this. Montanna got off the mark on Tapeta in June and Zack Mayo did likewise last month while Breakwater Bay won over this trip at Pontefract two runs ago. Skiddaw Valleys is now 3lb lower than when successful over course and distance last year but has been out of sorts for a while. Richard Hannon has a decent strike-rate with the few runners he sends here so PETE SO HIGH could be worth a speculative wager. He would need to improve on the form he’s shown so far on Turf but the booking of De Sousa catches the eye.
