Ebn Malk can open his account by seeing off the challenges of Crystal Rock and Hawk Island amongst others. Michael Jarvis has his string firing on all cylinders and has a remarkable thirty eight per cent strike rate with his three year olds at this venue. The selection showed plenty of promise when a well backed favourite for a Yarmouth maiden at the backend of last season and should be all the better for his run in a well contested race at Haydock. Crystal Rock was disappointing at Chester over ten furlongs but cannot be written off just yet and ran well enough last year to enter calculations whilst Hawk Island has been knocking on the door and should find an opportunity before long. Mark Johnston's pair merit respect although need to improve on their bare form whilst Sirvino ran well on debut but will find easier opportunities than this. In contrast, this looks to be an excellent opening for the selection and Ebn Malk is taken to make the most of it.
