Sir Theodore was impeded at a crucial stage at Goodwood last time or he would have finished closer. His only victory to date came on heavy ground so more rain would aid his cause. Secret Clause stepped up to 6f for the first time at Nottingham and stayed on strongly after leading at the furlong pole. He's only been raised 2lb so must enter calculations. Mustn't Grumble won a seller here last May but hasn't scored subsequently despite dropping in the weights but Lady Wootton has now dropped to a mark she's capable of winning from as she showed at Redcar on Tuesday when narrowly beaten into third. LADY JOANNA VASSA was having only her fifth start when scoring at Notting over the minimum trip. She was 2lb out of the handicap so the 6lb penalty she carries today shouldn't prove too much of a burden and she can win again.
