Verdict
Ruth Carr has won this three times in five years, including with Dubai Dynamo in 2011. The veteran won here again last month and though disappointing at Ayr four days later the race may have come too soon. OFF ART started favourite for the Thirsk Hunt Cup and ran well to finish runner-up to Sound Advice. He was again market leader in a Listed handicap at York and, though unable to get into the frame, didn't run badly and takes a clear drop in class here so is handed the vote. Birdman will makes things difficult for Tim Easterby's charge as he's completed a hat-trick since joining David O'Meara. But all of his victories have been over 7f on quicker ground than he's likely to face here and he's a massive 21lb higher than when his winning run began. Instant Attraction has also never won over a trip this far but Border Bandit won twice over the course and distance last summer and along with Haaf A Sixpence, who is taking a drop in class, can get involved in what looks a tight handicap.
