Verdict
La Spezia can prove up to the task in the opener, with Nadawat, Ice Box, Wise Decision and Thunderousapplause all worth a mention. La Spezia has been confined to three starts over seven furlongs since making her debut at Newmarket in August, but as she is related to Brindisi who won over a mile as a three-year-old, this step up to that trip looks ideal. Michael Bell's filly should make experience count here and is given the nod over Nadawat. John Dunlop's charge is also going the right way, and should have little difficulty picking up a maiden judged on her last two efforts at Newmarket and Goodwood. She too will have no trouble staying the extra journey and should again go close. Mark Johnston won this race last year and sends out Ice Box who will be all the better for her recent introduction at Ayr. Eoghan O'Neill always has some useful juveniles, and it can pay to monitor the market regarding newcomer Wise Decision, while fellow debutante Zarnitza is sure to have some ability. La Spezia should be more the finished article though, and is the pick of some nice fillies.
