In depth
Verdict
The two previous winners Major Third and Fathom Five have to be respected here, however we will give the vote to Sweet Candy. Kevin Ryan could win with a rocking horse at present and Sweet Candy showed enough on her debut to be given evry chance this afternoon. She finished just a length behind today's rival Fathom Five on her Musselburgh debut showing good speed but then ran green in the closing stages and she will be better for the experience. Major Third was successful over course and distance earlier this month on much faster ground. If he handles this surface he should be involved in the finish. Steelcut is from another stable in good form and following an excellent debut run could also be vying for some place money today. All in all a very open affair but Sweet Candy just gets the verdict
