Lacework is a progressive type and can follow up a recent success, King Charles and Packers Hill could be the main rivals. The selection improved on his seasonal return to comfortably beat Colchium in a hot handicap at Goodwood. He was going away in the closing stages so should be suited by this extra couple of furlongs and looks the one to beat. King Charles ended last season with a hard fought victory at Newmarket. He will come on for his recent return but may need to drop a couple of pounds before winning again. Packers Hill easily landed a class five handicap last time. This could prove more taxing but he should still play a major role. Plane Painter could be the pick of the two Mark Johnston runners, but Lacework looks on the upgrade and should make it back to back victories.
