          Verdict

          As suggested by the race title this is moderate in the extreme. COSMIC STATESMAN ran very well to finish a close second in a similar grade handicap over this trip at Nottingham, when Egmont was well behind, before a well beaten last of four in a better race at Pontefract. This is his class and he looks to have as good a chance as any. Ingleby Hollow has shown some potential but is taking a huge step-up in trip, as is North Bar Lady, who ran well in a nursery over a mile here in September. Passionate Appeal ran over 1m2f on his final juvenile start so is obviously regarded as a staying type while Champagne Ransom should have no problems with the trip as she's already run three times over 1m4f when looking as though she needed further.
