This may well turn out to be the better of the two divisions of this maiden, with MASTER ROONEY taken to score, while High Office and a number of debutants look capable of going well. Master Rooney has finished runner up in two starts so far, but his level of form will probably be quite tricky for a newcomer to match and with this step up in trip a plus he is taken to score if he handles the ground on his first try on good to soft. High Office handled cut well on his Ayr debut over this trip and clearly looks capable of improving for that first run, so he can get involved. Regal Lyric and Suprise Gift are well bred debutants, for whom trip and pedigree suggest both can go well, though the ground is a concern for them. The ground will also be a concern for Sir Mark Prescott, who runs Speed Dating, so by process of elimination on the going Pattern Mark, who is related to juvenile winners, can emerge the best of those seeing a racecourse for the first time. Master Rooney is the one for us here.
