In depth

Verdict

Arbalet is well handicapped nowadays and attracted significant market support at Newmarket earlier this month, though again found little when push came to shove. He may be worth opposing if starting favourite again. Ventura Ocean did better in a hot race at Newcastle and has slipped a further 2lb down the weights but was engaged yesterday at Newmarket. The likes of Northernpowerhouse and Shawaamekh return from lengthy lay-offs but Reeth goes well fresh, though this looks a good opportunity for THE GREAT HEIR. Placed twice last year in a light campaign, he’s won here in the past and could be well treated if a gelding operation has rekindled enthusiasm.
