Verdict

Sydney Ruffdiamond is sure to be popular in view of connections but needs to find a few pounds against some in-form rivals. Stanghow arrives on the back of an eight-length romp at Nottingham earlier this week but this rates a tougher assignment and he'll find today's ground much quicker. He's clearly in great heart but FLICKA'S BOY has shaped well on all starts in the current campaign and is a sprinter who relishes quick ground. He must concede weight all round but has his conditions and seems sure to give it his best shot. Soie D'leau ties in closely with Stanghow on Beverley running in May, since when a smooth Newcastle maiden win confirmed he's going the right way. He should be in the mix with Penny Royale not ruled out either.
