Icario scored on the Flat and over hurdles for Gordon Elliott and has started well for new connections, beaten a neck over a trip too short at Catterick last week. Bill Cody completed a double over this course and distance before a disappointing run at Musselburgh but the handicapper may have hold of him and though Ice Galley gained his first ever victory over this track and trip last month he's up a grade and 6lb higher. SOLDIER TO FOLLOW has never been this far but won a 1m4f handicap at Hamilton in the style of a stayer and a 4lb rise shouldn't be enough to prevent a follow-up. The lightly-raced Grecian Spirit was returning from a long break when third at Newcastle and, with that under his belt and the longer trip likely to suit, he looks a threat.
