In depth

Verdict

This looks wide open but top weight Birkenhead has been knocking on the door again lately. SPANISH ANGEL blew the start when a beaten favourite behind Emeralds Pride at Beverley two runs ago. He was hampered at Wolverhampton last time and is much better treated on Turf at present. Elzaal finally looks to be coming to hand but Canaria Prince may struggle to overturn Carlisle running with Opal Storm, who is definitely one for the shortlist. Sixcor and The Grey Lass are closely matched on Musselburgh form and Pepsi Cat still looks well treated despite recent good form at Bath.
