Ingleby Hollow is in rampant form at present and his welter burden of 10st 7lb minus Patrick Vaughan’s 3lb claim won’t stop the favourite backers from rowing in again. There may, however, be value in taking him on with KIWAYU. Phil Kirby has arrived mob handed in the finale with three runners declared and his seven-year-old has plenty going for him. He proved very much up to the task here in May and was not disgraced on a subsequent visit. Stanarley Pic raced too keenly at Pontefract and predictably didn’t stay over the marathon trip. Alan Swinbank’s charge seems capable of showing his form on any ground and should give a good account. Connections persist with Celtic Power over longer distances whilst Micky Hammond has gone to the trouble of booking Megan Nicholls for the unexposed Sthenic.
