Ronya is 1lb lower than when she won at this meeting last year and she couldn’t be ruled out in what is a very trappy affair. Charles De Mille is proving consistent enough at this level but GRANDEST is potentially well treated on the pick of his form. He was racing off marks in the low-80’s when trained by John Gosden, and having been the subject of strong market support ahead of his most recent start at Ayr, there’s enough to suggest that he can be competitive off today’s mark of 56. Of the remainder, Canford Kilbey is worthy of a market check. The filly won a claimer at Thirsk for Richard Fahey before losing her way and the in-form Mick Easterby has given her plenty of time to come to hand.
