Verdict

The return to Redcar can help Mount Vettore get back on track and he is selected over In The Pink and Pawan. The last named can never confidently be ruled out in this company and he could easily make the frame again here. Anne Stokell has enjoyed a cracking spell over the last few months and each-way thieves could do worse than give charge another go. In The Pink is also capable on her day and should strip a lot fitter after her reappearance run here eight days ago. She did manage to win on this type of ground last summer and she is one to bear in mind when she has dropped a few pound in the weights. However, Mount Vettore gets the nod today, as he represents a yard that always have to be respected with their runners at their local course. Keith Reveley managed to coax a win out of the gelding over hurdles last December and has obviously found the key to keeping him settled in his races. A mile was perfect for him when he raced on the Flat last year and, as he has gone well here in the past, there is no reason to suspect that he cannot go close today.
