        Verdict

        This race carries a warning. Don't get heavily involved in what is a poor claimer, but if you must play then the suggestion is the likely favourite Black As Soot, who is one of a book of rides with chances for Jamie Spencer. You wouldn't be videoing this for posterity I shouldn't think, but the gelding's form at this trip is good in the context of this awful race and he may be good enough to pick up winning prize money. Touch Of Ivory has a decent enough draw, comes from a yard still having winners, and has bits of form that suggest he can be involved, while at longer odds Cumberland Road is worth noting for any market moves from a yard that is flying. But Black As Soot has achieved more than the rest and he is our tentative suggestion.
