A trappy maiden fillies' race gets proceedings underway and as usual in these events the market will be very informative but the principals look to be Candle Sahara, Winter Bloom and Carnival Dream and the vote is given to Candle Sahara. The selection was a fair third behind the highly regarded Fashion Rocks last time out. This step up in trip is likely to bring about more improvement and she should take plenty of beating. Winter Bloom rates the main danger on her debut second behind Night Skier and the fact that retained jockey Richard Hughes has come here instead of going to Leicester speaks volumes. Carnival Dream is another worthy of respect on her latest second behind Blue Cross Boy but she has had plenty of chances and looks vulnerable to a less exposed type. Midnight Mystique hails from a yard that can ready a debutante and this well-bred filly by Noverre could go well at a price, but her yard could be in better form. However Candle Sahara sets a fair standard and gets our vote.
