For many the race will centre upon whether Dawn's Sharp Shot can overcome the bounce factor off after a year off course to land her first foray in handicap company. She scrambled home in maiden company at Sandown but unfortunately the form of that race has not held up. Topweight, Intricate Web looked to appreciate a step up in trip in a similar contest at Ripon but a disappearance for a couple of months has to be of some concern to his supporters. Altay's recent run was better than the bare figures suggest. He is anticipated to give a bold show from the front but is arguably a couple of pounds too high in the handicap. One who should be able to handle the conditions is course and distance winner, Fittonia. She won here last month and is probably capable of more off her current mark. The Teamtalk vote (at decent odds) goes to Den's Joy. She showed signs of coming back to form at Nottingham earlier in the week and off a mark of 59, she looks on the right side of the handicapper.
