      Verdict

Karaka Jack has won back-to-back races here over a mile but the step up in trip and softer going today could spoil his hat-trick bid. No Poppy was behind Karaka Jack here last month but has run well since on soft ground at York and Newmarket, though her stamina will be tested here. Paul Hanagan rides Pontefract second Docs Legacy for old governor Richard Fahey, but the yard also have Hi There in this and he was much improved at Newbury last time. TY GWR is a real mudlark and overcame a tardy start to score at Pontefract last month. He's 6lb higher here but Mikey Ennis' claim takes care of that and Brian Ellison's gelding should be hard to beat, though Open Eagle could be a danger dropped in trip.
