Verdict

It was soft ground when Purple Rock finished fourth at Newbury on his debut but he can figure if proving as effective on today's surface. The others with experience have shown little so far so a newcomer may well be good enough and MUHTADIM makes most appeal of those. He's a brother to 2000 Guineas hero Makfi among others and is preferred to Thankstomonty, a half-brother to a Group 1 winner in Australia. Lone Star Boy can count smart sprinter Monsieur Joe among his winning relatives and may prove best of the rest.
