Verdict

Doubtful Sound is no star but he is favoured at the weights and seeing as he comes here in fair form, John Harris' gelding gets the vote ahead of Jazenio and Gap Princess. The selection has top-weight today but he has carried decent weights to victory on the all-weather in the past. He has only had one start on the turf, but assuming that the ground doesn't soften too much, then he looks sure to run a big race. Our Sunnie is yet to score in ten starts, and whilst he has shown some ability, he has it all to do to turn the tables on Jazenio who beat him comprehensively when they met at Leicester. He found the seventh furlong too much last time but must be respected back over this trip. Swallow Forest ran no sort of race last time out but that may be down to the soft ground and on breeding this extra furlong should not hurt, whilst Gap Princess hasn't shown much in recent outings but the ability is there and this trip suits best of all it seems. Another open race, with the vote going to Doubtful Sound.
