A trappy finale but Starry Lodge looked a handicapper to follow last time and gets the vote ahead of Polish Corridor, Archie Babe and Sporting Gesture. Luca Cumani's Starry Lodge was backward as a juvenile but has clearly thrived during the winter months judged on a convincing victory on his handicap debut at Warwick last month. The form has worked out well with the runner-up occupying the same position in a competitive handicap at Pontefract yesterday and the unexposed Starry Lodge is taken to defy a 6lb penalty against his elders. Sporting Gesture had Polish Corridor back in third when successful at Pontefract last time and there should be little to separate the pair once again but both look vulnerable to an improving type. Archie Babe landed an apprentice event at Doncaster in Marchbut had his limitations exposed when beaten next time off the same mark and may struggle here having been raised 5lb since.
