In depth

Verdict

Diamond King, who won last year's Coral Cup at Cheltenham, was well supported for a Grade 3 handicap chase there last month but never recovered after an early blunder. His overall form entitles him to respect while Le Prezien appeared to find the extended two miles on the short side in the Grand Annual after a fine run in the Grade 1 Scilly Isles at Sandown. With connections in blistering form, easy Fairyhouse winner WOODLAND OPERA will take some beating on his handicap debut as he's been making really good progress and will be suited by this longer trip. Dicosimo finally got his jumping act together at Thurles and doesn't look badly treated on his handicap bow but Champagne Harmony ploughed through the mud to win at Navan and may not be as effective on this ground. Balko Des Flos has been racing in very strong novice company and was still in the lead when falling four out in the JLT at Cheltenham.
