In depth

Verdict

NENUPHAR COLLONGES showed with a reasonable run in the William Hill Handicap Chase at Cheltenham that he's perfectly capable of scoring from this mark and, as he's relatively fresh and the ground will be no problem, he can land this for Alan King. Hold The Pin has run three times at this Festival and failed to distinguish himself though he was unlucky when falling at the last in 2008. A recent victory over hurdles will have put him straight while the youngster Tinakellylad was in the process of running a big race in the National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham before coming to grief and is back on his correct mark. The veteran A New Story beat L'Ami over the cross country course at Cheltenham before an even better run in the Irish National but Inoma James disappointed when favourite for the Midlands National at Uttoxeter and may need more testing conditions. Few will want to trust King Johns Castle after his antics at the start in the Grand National at Aintree though he remains a very useful performer at this level.
