Verdict

Of the six runners only Macgiloney has failed to win around here. GALVIN made a winning reappearance in the race a year ago before beaten a neck by Frodon in Down Royal's Grade 1 Champion Chase. He then beat A Plus Tard in the Grade 1 Savills Chase at Leopardstown before disappointing in the Gold Cups here and at Cheltenham. Gordon Elliott also saddles National Hunt Challenge Cup runner-up Run Wild Fred, a faller in the Nationals at Aintree and Fairyhouse, and the race-fit Battleoverdoyen, who has been in good form without winning. The latter was just beaten by Politesse at Galway and there's little between them at the revised weights, though Lorna Fowler's charge has the most scope of the pair.
