LEO THE LION may be able to make a successful step into handicap company with Urban Space and High Cross two of the potential dangers. High Cross has to be respected given her connections and it would be no surprise if this half-sister to Record Breaker were to improve for this step up in trip having looked held at around ten furlongs. Urban Space finished tailed off in a claimer on his penultimate start but he aided Brendan Powell's upswing in fortunes by winning a handicap at Nottingham over ten furlongs. He's 7lbs higher now but that was comfortably the best performance of his career and he should stay this far so he may well be able to go on. Cry For The Moon, Mohanad, Canmoss and Mons Calpe are all considered too but Mark Johnston has his string going well and we'll side with his representative. He wasn't beaten far on either of his first two starts at Kempton before landing the odds over this trip at Lingfield in a race that also featured Urban Space. The form of that contest isn't great but his initial mark looks fair and there should be more to come so Leo The Lion will do for us.
