Lujano is surely better than he showed on his reappearance for Ollie Pears at Haydock earlier this month but he is hard to back with any confidence after that run and a better option looks to be DESERT HUNTER, who gets the verdict ahead of Avonrose. Mark Johnston's filly has failed to win since landing her second start as a juvenile but she has slipped to a fair mark so cannot be ruled out in a competitive finale. Anabel King's Daniel Thomas has struggled against the handicapper since winning a seller at Wolverhampton in December and of more interest may be Diamond Daisy, who represents the in-form stable of Ann Duffield and is entitled to come on for his recent reappearance run at Thirsk. Marginal preference though is for Micky Hammond's Desert Hunter, who ran a couple of decent races at Carlisle last month before disappointing back there last time and he looks worth another chance in this company.
