    Verdict

    Spantik showed he stays much further than today's trip when an excellent second over two miles at Ripon this month. He only succumbed by half a length that day and is likely to set out to maximise his assured stamina. Lawmans Blis saw out a longer trip well last time too and is another who likes to get on with things, so this could develop into a tactical affair. Sociologist needs to find more to deal with his three rivals, whereas MYBOYMAX has put together a useful sequence of runner-up efforts during the spring, all at this trip. He gets on well with his 7lb claimer and may just be able to pounce late if the two likely pacemakers make life difficult for one another.
